Kimi Ora School

Kimi Ora School is a special needs school that enrols students from the Wellington region. It is a school that caters for a diverse range of students aged from five to twenty one years of age with high and very high complex special needs.  Kimi Ora means “seeking well being in health” or “to be made whole.” Our school offers an holistic approach to education, working with the family we aim to achieve the best for your child. The therapies of speech language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and music therapy offered on site, on an ongoing basis, add an extra dimension to your child’s education.  Our enrolment and information documentation is available in Te Reo and other languages as required.

Conductive Education

Conductive Education in New Zealand is supported by a national body. The NZ Foundation for Conductive Education (NZFCE) was formed in September 1993 by the groups providing Conductive Education around NZ.

The purposes of the Foundation are:

  • To promote and raise the profile of Conductive Education
  • To promote cooperation between the groups providing Conductive Education
  • To advocate for those involved with Conductive Education
  • To network with the disability community
  • To facilitate research into Conductive Education
  • To promote standards for Conductive Education in New Zealand
  • To support the establishment of new Conductive Education Centres throughout NZ where there is an identified need
